Dhanteras also known as Dhanvantari Triodasi is celebrated on the 13th lunar day of Krishna Paksha. The festival marks the beginning of Diwali festival and it is celebrated two days before Diwali.The festival is celebrated with great enthusiasm in Hindus. On this festival, people bought gold, silver and utensils for their home. People decorates their home and house door with colorful lighting to welcome the Goddess Lakshmi.
