Attractions: Rose Garden has variety of roses that rare to find anywhere. Echo point got its name as when scream here you can hear your voice back. It is located near the lake and calm & serene place. Elephant arrival point – you can elephant ride and explore the wilderness of the forests. Mettupetti Dam is picnic destination popular for boating and horse riding. Doddabetta park – highest peak of the region and 10km away from the centre of the city. Kolukkumalai Tea Estate is the tea factory located at the highest place in the world and popular for flavoursome tea. Attukkad waterfalls, Marayoor, Blossom Park, Kundala Dam and lake, Chinnar wildlife sanctuary and number of waterfalls attracts tourists from all the parts of the world.

Nearest Airport: Munnar doesn’t have its own airport. Cochin airport is 110km away and Madurai is 140km away.

Bus Service :KSRTC buses runs in Kerala and has economic rates for the sightseeing. Taxi and cab service s are also available. Munnar is well connected by the other cities.

Nearest Railway Station : Aluva railway station is 110 km away, Ernakulam Railway Station is 130 km away and Madurai is 135km away.

Food:Unniyappam is a favourite snack in Kerala, Payasam, Coconut Kheer, Pachadi – type of salad, mezhukkupurattai or mixed vegetable, pili anji, rice with sambhar and rasam, kappa is staple diet of Malayalees, Kerala biryani and Kerala fish curry.

Best Time to Visit:June and August is the best season to visit Munnar. Summers are hot but not humid so one can go in summers also.
