Attractions: Golden Temple – holiest gurudwara and most spiritual center of Sikhs amidst of Amrit Sarovar lake where pilgrims take bath. Jallianwala Bagh where the massacre on April 13, 1919 took place on the order of General Dyer. Wagah or Attari Border that is the border line along Grand Trunk road from Punjab in India and Lahore in Pakistan. Durgiana Temple is also popular tourist destination.

Nearest Airport: Raja Sansi airport is just 11 km from the center of the city and have regular flights from New Delhi and Chandigarh.

Bus Service: Amritsar is well connected by other popular cities of India. Have frequent buses from New Delhi, Chandigarh, Jaipur and other. Taxi service and cabs is also a good option to explore Amritsar.

Nearest Railway Station:City has 6 railway stations. Amritsar Junction is just 0.89 kms from the center of city. Others are Verka - 6.73 kms, Jandiala – 18.18 km, Batala, Attari, Beas and Dhariwal.

Food: Taste of Punjabi cuisine is reflected by the food in Amritsar. Makke Ki roti with Sarso ka sag is on the top of the list, large glass of lassi, Chicken Tikka, Jalebi and Fruit cream with kulfa is also very popular. Amritsari Kulcha is famous in Canada also.

Best Time to Visit: Every season is good to visit Amritsar but summers are very hot so avoid summer season.
